Hematite is a mineral, colored black to steel or silvering gray, brown to reddish brown, or red.
When the Hematite is smoothed or polished, it looks like an iron or a mercury piece. When not smoothen, looks like a red mineral.
Locality :
Good specimens of the Hematite come from England, Mexico, Brazil, Australia and Lake Superior Region of the U.S and Canada.
Origin :
The name Hematite is derived from the greek word for blood - "haima", because Hematite can be red, as in rouge, a powdered form of Hematite.

Since the Hematite itself is a process of change (it is created from the form change of one of the hardest metal on earth), it symbolizes the possibility for changes and carries the essence of light in the physical body.
