Chemical Formula :

Actually, the Amber is not a stone, but a fosilized resin of wood.

The chemic formula can change but usually it's a combination of carbon, oxygent and hydrogen. Many times the formula is: C12H20O, when the carbon is almost 80% from the compound.

The crystalisation form is amorphy, meaning - no inside organization that repit itself.

Color :

Mostly, the Amber is transparent or half transparent but can be also totally opaque.

The colors are from yellow- golden yellow to brown. Sometimes there shades of red, blue and green.

Inside the Amber can be found air bubles, leaves, little insects and other different prehistoric remains. The Amber pieces which contain such items inside are rare and more expensive.

Locality :

All over the world, there are, at least, 60 different kinds of resins of Amber. Thus, Amber is present in most of the countries of the globe, nevertheless this is to the north of Baltic that are located the most important deposits. The principal is situated at Koenisberg by the edge of the Baltic, under a layer of clay of 30 meters from which it is extracted.

These samples group together 4 principal sorts of Amber :
- The Amber "Bitterfeld", (equally called the Amber"Saxon") : 22 millions of years,
- The Ukrainian Amber : 35 millions of years,
- The Baltic Amber : 40 millions of years,
- The Danish Amber : 50 millions of years.
Origin :

Amber is known to mineralogists as succinite, from the Latin succinum, which means amber. Amber is a fossilized wood resin, in this case fossilized means cross linked. The word "amber" likely comes from the Arabic word, "amber", meaning ambergris.

Physical and Spiritual Quality :

The main use of the Amber is in the physic level. The specialness that makes the Amber to an healing stone is the golden light which glows from it. The Amber brings with it warmness, which makes it a grate healing stone for imidiate relife from pains.
